SEC floats new "Regulation Crypto Assets" proposal, offering exemptions for smaller token raises
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
The SEC's proposed Regulation Crypto Assets would formalize a fundraising framework that includes exemptions for smaller offerings, a conditional post-management safe harbor, and partial state-registration relief. If adopted, it could lower compliance friction for early-stage token issuers and improve legal clarity for primary issuance structures. The 60-day comment period introduces headline-driven volatility, but the direction signals a more workable path for U.S. crypto capital formation.

According to ME News, a Fox Business crypto journalist said in a post on X on Aug. 19 (UTC+8) that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has formally proposed "Regulation Crypto Assets," a new framework for cryptocurrency fundraising in the United States. The draft would permit certain offerings to proceed without SEC registration as long as cumulative issuances stay below $5 million over four years or $75 million in any single year. It also outlines a conditional safe-harbor period for crypto assets after an issuer's key management has concluded, and would exempt qualifying issuances from certain state-level securities registration requirements. The SEC has opened a 60-day public comment window on the proposal. (Source: ODAILY)
