SEC Pushes Crypto Rulemaking With "Innovation Exemption" After Clarity Act Setback
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
The SEC's immediate five-year "Innovation Exemption" creates a regulatory pathway for Tokenized Security Venues to trade tokenized U.S. equities on public, permissionless blockchains, while allowing AMMs and liquidity pools without exchange registration if investor rights are preserved. This reduces near-term regulatory friction for onchain capital markets infrastructure and could accelerate institutional experimentation and venue launches, supporting broader crypto market risk appetite.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has rolled out an "Innovation Exemption" aimed at creating a regulatory path for Tokenized Security Venues (TSVs), allowing tokenized U.S. stocks to trade on public, permissionless blockchain networks.
Under the framework, eligible platforms may use automated market makers (AMMs) and liquidity pools without registering as a national securities exchange. The exemption applies provided the tokenized shares preserve full shareholder rights, including voting and dividends, and the token issuer does not object within 30 days.
The exemption takes effect immediately and will remain in place for five years.
