Ripple, the company behind XRP, has expanded its partnership with Brevan Howard, one of the world’s largest alternative investment managers, to provide the firm with access to Ripple Prime’s multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing capabilities. In a statement released on October 6, Ripple said the broader arrangement reflects rising demand from large investment managers for infrastructure that bridges traditional and digital markets. Under the expanded relationship, Brevan Howard can use Ripple Prime across a range of asset classes and products, with the platform positioned as a way to streamline operations and improve capital efficiency. “As digital and traditional markets become more interconnected, the need for institutional-quality digital asset infrastructure that enables a seamless experience for investors is only growing. Ripple has built a differentiated platform that we expect will provide our investment teams with increased operational ease and capital efficiency,” said Alan McGroarty, Group COO of Brevan Howard. The relationship builds on earlier collaboration following Ripple’s settlement of its legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025. Ripple indicated the latest expansion carries added weight beyond a typical client onboarding. Ripple Prime has also been broadening its scope beyond crypto. CryptoPotato recently reported that Ripple Prime launched a Delta One institutional trading platform that enables hedge funds, asset managers and other clients to execute Total Return Swaps across U.S.-listed equities, indices and digital assets. Clients can also cross-margin exposures across asset classes through a single counterparty relationship. Ripple Prime was previously known as Hidden Road before Ripple acquired it for $1.25 billion, a deal that positioned Ripple as the first crypto firm to own and operate a global multi-asset prime broker. The business reportedly clears more than $3 trillion annually and serves more than 300 institutional clients. The expanded Brevan Howard partnership aligns with Ripple’s push to extend well beyond crypto and strengthen its footprint across Wall Street.
