Ripple broadens Ripple Prime prime-brokerage mandate with Brevan Howard

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Ripple's expanded Ripple Prime agreement with Brevan Howard reinforces institutional adoption of multi-asset crypto prime brokerage, spanning execution, clearing, and financing across traditional and digital markets. The development supports Ripple's positioning beyond payments into broader market infrastructure and may improve confidence in its institutional connectivity. However, the announcement does not indicate incremental demand for XRP or RLUSD, limiting direct token-flow implications.

Ripple is expanding its partnership with global alternative investment manager Brevan Howard, with Ripple Prime set to provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing services for Brevan Howard's funds, according to CoinMarketCap. The companies said the expanded agreement was announced on October 6, 2026. Under the arrangement, Brevan Howard will access prime brokerage services spanning both traditional and digital markets via Ripple Prime, consolidating brokerage, clearing and financing across asset classes on a single platform. Ripple Prime's offering is geared toward institutional investors and typically includes trade execution support, clearing, financing and risk management. The platform covers digital assets as well as traditional markets such as foreign exchange, derivatives and fixed income, and provides portfolio financing alongside risk-based margin financing. Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said Brevan Howard's decision underscores Ripple Prime's competitive positioning and cross-asset capabilities, adding that the expansion reflects both firms' long-term commitment to the collaboration. Brevan Howard COO Alan McGroarty said the increasing convergence of digital and traditional markets is driving demand for institutional-grade digital asset infrastructure, and that Ripple's platform is expected to improve operational convenience and capital efficiency for Brevan Howard's investment team. Financial terms were not disclosed. Ripple Prime was created after Ripple completed its acquisition of Hidden Road in 2025. Hidden Road, a non-bank prime broker, provides clearing, prime brokerage and financing across foreign exchange, digital assets, derivatives, swaps and fixed income. Following the deal, Hidden Road was rebranded as Ripple Prime and Ripple continued expanding the platform's capabilities. In August 2026, Ripple Prime launched its Delta One business, allowing institutional clients to access total return swaps linked to U.S.-listed equities, indices and digital assets. Ripple Prime says it serves more than 300 institutional clients and clears over $3 trillion annually across markets, with cross-margin and risk-based margin financing available across multiple asset classes. The broader relationship also includes Brevan Howard's prior investment in Ripple. Funds associated with Brevan Howard participated in Ripple's $500 million strategic investment round in 2025, which was led by affiliates of Fortress Investment Group and Citadel Securities. Other participants included Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital and Marshall Wace. Ripple was valued at $40 billion at the time. The expanded prime brokerage mandate adds to Ripple Prime's roster of institutional relationships and supports Brevan Howard's ability to manage positions across both traditional and digital markets. More broadly, the agreement aligns with Ripple's push to extend its financial infrastructure beyond payments, with offerings spanning payments, custody, stablecoins, fund management and prime brokerage. While Ripple cited XRP and RLUSD as parts of its wider digital asset portfolio and infrastructure, the announcement did not state whether Brevan Howard will use XRP or RLUSD under the expanded arrangement. The deal should not be read as a direct signal that Brevan Howard is purchasing additional XRP or increasing its use of XRP.
