Ostium Details July 15 Hack Compensation Plan; Over 90% of Impacted Wallets Set for Full Reimbursement

Ostium has published an update on the July 15 security incident and outlined a recovery plan for Ostium Liquidity Pool (OLP) holders. The project said roughly $23.75 million was withdrawn from the OLP, adding that available evidence indicates the attack may have been conducted by a state-sponsored actor. Ostium has so far recovered $649,967 in USDC. Assets still held in affected users' vaults are currently valued at about 30% of their pre-incident OLP holdings. Ostium said it has launched a recovery portal and has taken a snapshot of OLP balances at the time of the incident. The snapshot identified 3,666 impacted wallets. Under Phase One, 3,321 wallets—or 90.59%—qualify for full compensation of verified losses. Users with losses of 1,000 USDC or less can claim an equivalent amount in USDC. Users with losses above 1,000 USDC can either claim 1,000 USDC and waive any remaining recovery amount, or opt into Phase Two, which will distribute additional recovery on a proportional basis. Ostium said Phase Two funding is expected to come primarily from assets recovered from the attacker and revenue-sharing from the Ostium protocol. The revenue share percentage and related terms are expected to be announced by October 30. The incident involved a compromise of Ostium's off-chain infrastructure on July 15, which enabled the withdrawal of approximately 23.75 million USDC from the OLP treasury.
