Nasdaq Ventures will invest $100 million in Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, as the firms step up efforts around tokenized equities.
Bloomberg said the transaction implies a $21 billion valuation for Payward, a figure neither company has formally confirmed.
The funding broadens an existing partnership to build Nasdaq Equity Tokens on Payward's xStocks infrastructure, with a targeted launch in Q2 2027. Nasdaq also plans to roll out its market surveillance technology across Payward's crypto, equities, tokenized equities, futures and options platforms.
