Odaily Planet Daily reported that upbeat earnings have strengthened investor conviction in the outlook for artificial intelligence, sending the Nasdaq 100 Index up 9.3% over the past four trading sessions—its strongest advance since April 2025—and lifting aggregate market value by about $3.5 trillion. The rebound has been broad across tech, spanning semiconductors and software as well as hyperscale data-center operators that have been committing heavy capital spending. Strong second-quarter results have reinforced the view that the wave of AI investment will persist and is already translating into returns for large corporates. "The era of shorting big capital expenditure players—such as hyperscale data centers—and going long on small capital expenditure players is over, and I think that's a good thing," said David Rainville, Chief Manager at Sycomore Sustainable Tech Fund. "It's no longer a simple binary trade." The earnings season also highlighted widening performance gaps among major tech names.
