Metaplanet to Contribute 2,100 BTC to U.S.-Listed Bitcoin Treasury Vehicle Super League

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Metaplanet plans to contribute 2,100 BTC (~$132m) plus $2.5m cash into Nasdaq-listed Super League, rebranding it as "Superplanet" to create a U.S.-listed Bitcoin treasury vehicle. The structure targets U.S. capital market access and intends to fund further BTC accumulation via perpetual USD-denominated preferred shares. This expands institutional-style balance-sheet demand for BTC and could lift broader crypto risk sentiment near term.

Metaplanet plans to contribute 2,100 BTC—worth about $132 million—plus $2.5 million in cash to Nasdaq-listed Super League (SLE) on August 18, according to BlockBeats. Following the deal, Super League will be renamed "Superplanet" and is expected to change its ticker to SUPA. Post-transaction, Metaplanet is projected to own roughly 95.7% of Superplanet, positioning the company as a U.S.-listed Bitcoin treasury platform designed to tap U.S. capital markets. Superplanet intends to enter the expanding digital credit market by raising funds through perpetual USD-denominated preferred shares. The company plans to use the proceeds to buy additional Bitcoin, while supporting dividend payments through U.S. dollar reserves and operating cash flow. Metaplanet said the approach is intended to increase Superplanet's BTC per share and, at the group level, boost Metaplanet's Bitcoin holdings per share. The group would operate two listed Bitcoin treasury platforms—one in Japan and one in the United States—each drawing on its local capital markets to continue accumulating BTC.
