Meta halves Claude Code seats to about 30,000 as Microsoft cuts per-employee AI spend cap to roughly $10,000 ahead of Anthropic's IPO

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Meta halving Claude Code users and Microsoft cutting per-employee AI spend caps signals near-term tightening in enterprise AI inference/LLM budgets. With Anthropic reliant on customer concentration (two large clients driving 24% of 2025 revenue), reported spend pullbacks increase scrutiny on growth durability ahead of its planned IPO. The read-through is softer demand momentum across the AI software stack and slower budget pass-through to model providers.

Meta has reduced the number of employees using Anthropic's Claude Code from roughly 60,000 to about 30,000. Microsoft has also lowered the monthly spending cap for AI models per employee from $100,000 to around $10,000, after previously projecting at least $1 billion a year in spending on Anthropic's technology. Anthropic is preparing an IPO valued at more than $2 trillion. The company's revenue profile is coming under closer scrutiny as spending tightens and customer concentration remains high, with two unnamed large clients accounting for 24% of its 2025 revenue.
