Hyperliquid says 3.75 million HYPE tokens currently being unstaked will be sold to an institution through an over-the-counter (OTC) deal rather than on the open market.
Jinsecai reported that on Oct. 1, Hyperliquid team member iliensinc wrote on Discord that Hyperliquid Labs will unstake 3.75 million HYPE tokens today and distribute them to team members on Oct. 7. The tokens are tied to an existing OTC agreement with an institutional counterparty and will not be sold via public trading venues.
Earlier, on-chain analyst EmberCN flagged that a related HyperLabs address had submitted a redemption request for 3.75 million HYPE tokens, valued at about $337.5 million.
