Harmony, a layer-1 blockchain launched in 2019, said it is coordinating with exchanges to halt activity and freeze funds after a suspected exploit. The team said it is preparing a patch and reviewing potential rollback options.
Onchain analyst Juiceberg estimated that about 4 billion ONE—roughly 26% of the token's total supply—was minted without authorization through empty blocks. The analyst said around 2.8 billion ONE was rapidly sent to exchanges as the token price fell.
Harmony has not yet disclosed the root cause or confirmed the amount involved. The network previously suffered an exploit of its Horizon Bridge in 2022, with losses estimated at about $100 million.
