Top 10 COLDCARD exploit groups move about 1,700 BTC; largest linked to more than 1,080 BTC
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Galaxy Research analysis indicates ~1,700 BTC has been moved by the top 10 groups exploiting weakly secured COLDCARD seeds, with one group transferring >1,080 BTC and some still likely holding most proceeds. The story reinforces operational-security risk around self-custody and raises near-term concern about potential additional on-chain movements and distribution of stolen coins, which can pressure sentiment across Bitcoin and related crypto markets.

ME News reported on Aug. 16 (UTC+8) that Bitcoin News monitoring, citing analysis from Galaxy Research (@glxyresearch), found identifiable behavioral fingerprints among attacker groups exploiting poorly secured COLDCARD seed setups. The ten largest clusters have moved an estimated 1,700 BTC in total, led by one group that transferred more than 1,080 BTC.
Researchers distinguished the groups by indicators including fee-setting tactics, transaction timing, consolidation patterns, and the final destinations of stolen coins. Several of the largest groups are believed to still control most of the misappropriated BTC.
