Galaxy Research said Coldcard-related attacks have led to the theft of at least 1,778 BTC, worth about $112 million, and warned total losses could ultimately be higher. In an update dated Aug. 14 (UTC+8), the firm said it has mapped three major waves of activity along with more than 30 smaller traces, and identified at least 33 clusters of attacker-controlled addresses. Galaxy Research added that it has not detected any new high-confidence attack waves since Aug. 6.
The firm estimates roughly 1,531 BTC remains in wallets controlled by the attackers, while about 246 BTC has been moved. Of the transferred funds, around 65% was routed through CoinJoin, with about 35% sent to exchanges or cross-chain bridges.
Galaxy Research said it has shared the relevant address list with crypto exchanges, compliance and investigative organizations, and law enforcement. (Source: ODAILY)
