GalaChain Suffers $3 Million Exploit via EIP-712 Vulnerability; Cross-Chain Bridges Suspended

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
GalaChain saw an anomalous outflow totaling ~1.99B GALA (~$2.9M) and other tokens, rapidly bridged and swapped to ETH, indicating an exploit path. Gala attributes the incident to an unsigned field injection flaw in its EIP712 implementation and has paused the GalaEthereum bridge and deactivated the Solana bridge. The event raises immediate operational and trust risk around Gala's crosschain infrastructure and token flows.

On Tuesday, GalaChain experienced an unauthorized outflow of approximately 1.99 billion GALA tokens, valued at $2.9 million, alongside other assets. According to reports by blockchain journalist Kate Irwin, the funds were transferred from five major addresses—including a wallet linked to Gala Games CEO Eric Schiermeyer—to a new address before being bridged and swapped for ETH. Gala's development team subsequently issued an emergency GitHub patch, identifying the cause as an unsigned field injection vulnerability within the network's EIP-712 implementation. In response, the Gala-Ethereum and Solana bridges have been suspended. While official communications cited 'routine maintenance,' the services have remained offline for several days, raising concerns among the community regarding the security of the cross-chain infrastructure.
