EU adds Justin Sun-linked HTX and Huobi Global S.A. to Russia sanctions list
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
The EU's addition of HTX/Huobi Global S.A. to its Russia sanctions list restricts EU counterparties from transacting with the exchange, increasing compliance and access risk for users and liquidity providers. While the measure stops short of an asset freeze, it signals expanding Western enforcement reach toward offshore venues, raising operational and reputational headwinds for Justin Sun-linked entities and tokens most associated with his ecosystem.

The European Union has added HTX and Huobi Global S.A. to its Russia sanctions list, naming the Justin Sun (@justinsuntron)-linked exchange among 18 crypto service providers accused of helping Russian users move funds around Western restrictions.
The listing bars EU-based operators from transacting with the exchange, but it is not a full designation and does not include an asset freeze.
The move comes two months after the UK sanctioned Huobi Global S.A., a step HTX dismissed at the time by arguing the Panama-registered entity was separate from the exchange. The EU's list now names both entities together.
HTX is the largest exchange to date to be pulled into the Russia sanctions net, signalling that major offshore platforms are increasingly within reach of Western enforcement.
