Oct. 4 — Core Lightning has issued an alert saying attackers are actively targeting nodes that remain on v26.06.7 or earlier, according to monitoring by Bitcoin News cited by Gold Finance. The project is urging operators to upgrade to v26.06.8, a patch released on Sept. 22. Core Lightning said v26.06.8 addresses a channel-closure bug that could put user funds at risk, along with additional flaws that may trigger crashes and memory exhaustion. The team has not disclosed the name of the vulnerability being exploited and said it has not observed any stolen funds so far. Operators who have not upgraded are reported to be under active attack.
