Cboe Seeks SEC Approval to List the First U.S. 3x Leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Cboe's filing to list the first U.S. 3x leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs signals an expansion of regulated, exchange-listed leverage tied to crypto via CME futures. While approval is uncertain, the proposal is market-relevant because such products can increase short-term trading activity, derivatives hedging demand, and volatility sensitivity around daily moves, potentially deepening liquidity and amplifying intraday flows in BTC-linked instruments.

PANews, Aug. 15 — Cboe BZX Exchange, a subsidiary of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe), has filed a proposed rule change with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list what would be the first 3x leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds in the U.S., The Block reported. The filing also covers plans to list 3x leveraged ETFs tied to gold, silver, crude oil and natural gas. According to the proposal, the funds would seek to deliver three times the daily performance of their respective underlying assets through futures exposure on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) or the New York Mercantile Exchange (COMEX), with cash and cash equivalents used as collateral.
