BounceBit (@bouncebit) said it will permanently shut down its Layer 1 blockchain following an attack that exploited an authorization flaw in a protocol-level module. The attacker moved about 286.5 million $BB from nine accounts before block production stopped on Aug. 20.
The project will reissue the token as a BEP-20 asset on @BNBCHAIN using a pre-theft snapshot, with all attacker-controlled funds excluded. BounceBit said no private keys were compromised and its CeDeFi products remain unaffected.
