Anthropic has signed a long-term power purchase agreement valued at $9.1 billion with Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms, Bloomberg reported. Riot will supply Anthropic with 191 megawatts of computing power from its Rockdale, Texas campus under a 20-year contract, an amount comparable to the electricity needed to power about 143,000 homes at once. Riot previously said it had secured a power supply deal with a "leading frontier AI company," and people familiar with the matter identified the customer as Anthropic.
