Bitcoin Tops $82,000 as Short Liquidations Add Fuel to Crypto Rally

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Bitcoin's break above $82,000 was reinforced by roughly $510M in short liquidations, creating forced covering that intensified spot and derivatives-driven upside. Broad participation across ETH, XRP, and BNB signals improved crypto risk appetite. The move aligns with firmer U.S. equities and precious metals amid expectations of easing rate pressure, while prospective U.S. Treasury long-bond buybacks and ongoing institutional BTC demand add supportive macro-liquidity context.

Bitcoin climbed above $82,000 on Thursday, marking its highest level since May 11, according to CoinDesk. The move was reinforced by heavy short covering: about $510 million in short positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours, intensifying buying pressure as traders rushed to close bearish bets. Major tokens advanced alongside bitcoin, pointing to firmer risk appetite across the market. Bitcoin was up 4.0% at $81,209.47. Ether gained 4.2% to $2,518.82. XRP rose 5.7% to $1.45, while BNB added 4.3% to $727.73. Broader macro conditions also improved. U.S. equities moved higher, with the Nasdaq, S&P 500 and Dow Jones all posting gains, and gold and silver rising as well. Markets are increasingly positioning for reduced upward pressure on interest rates, a backdrop that tends to support risk assets. CoinDesk also highlighted that the U.S. Treasury plans to increase repurchases of long-term bonds. Alongside continued institutional bitcoin accumulation, that shift is seen as adding momentum to the latest leg of the rally.
