Bitcoin Spot ETFs Draw $754M in Weekly Inflows as BTC Gains 5%
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded ~$754M weekly inflows (11,792 BTC), the second-strongest week this year and a notable reversal after mostly negative flows since May. The renewed ETF bid signals improved institutional demand and can tighten near-term liquidity. Offsetting this, BTC remains below short-term holder realized price (~$67,523), implying potential distribution from recent buyers attempting to exit near breakeven, keeping positioning two-sided.

Bitcoin spot ETFs posted a sharp pickup in demand this week, attracting an estimated $754 million of net inflows as Bitcoin rose about 5%.
Market analyst Darkfost said ETF provider wallets received 11,792 BTC over the week, valued at roughly $754 million based on the prices referenced in the post. The tally ranks as the second-best weekly inflow of the year and marks a reversal from the predominantly negative flows seen since May.
The renewed buying arrives as traders assess whether Bitcoin has established a floor near $60,000. Analyst Astronomer reiterated a $60,000 bottom call first made in February, arguing that a bottom can form without extreme pessimism and that slow, range-bound price action can exhaust market interest. The view remains a market thesis rather than a confirmed turning point.
Another signal is weighing on sentiment. Axel Adler Jr noted that on August 8, BTC traded at $64,952, while the short-term holder Realized Price stood at $67,523, leaving Bitcoin $2,571, or 3.8%, below that cost basis, according to CoinMarketCap data. The gap was described as the narrowest since July 21. Short-term holders are defined as those holding coins for fewer than 155 days.
Adler Jr also said Bitcoin had closed below the short-term holder Realized Price 279 times over the past 284 days, a pattern that can increase the likelihood of selling as recent buyers seek to exit near breakeven.
The market is now balancing two forces: stronger ETF demand on one side and potential distribution pressure from short-term holders on the other. Continued positive ETF flows could provide support; a return to negative flows would suggest the rebound in demand may be short-lived.
