Binance US blames internal algorithm "bug" for Bitcoin flash crash
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Binance US reported a Bitcoin flash crash caused by an internal trading algorithm 'bug', disrupting order execution and impairing spot and derivatives liquidity. Because this is a core market-infrastructure failure rather than organic selling, it can widen spreads, raise perceived venue and operational risk, and trigger cascading leveraged liquidations. Near-term, traders may reduce exposure or route flow away from the venue, pressuring broader BTC liquidity conditions.

Binance US said a Bitcoin flash crash on its platform on July 28, 2026 was caused by a "bug" in an internal trading algorithm that disrupted order execution and led to abnormal price action.
The incident, which occurred on a U.S.-regulated, compliant exchange, hit liquidity across BTC spot and derivatives markets and set off a chain of leveraged liquidations. The exchange did not disclose the size of the drop or how long it lasted.
Binance US characterized the move as a core trading-infrastructure failure rather than market-driven volatility, noting its abrupt, mechanical nature and broader system linkages.
