Bitcoin Dips Under $84,000 After U.S. Inflation Update
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Bitcoin's move back below $84,000 after briefly clearing $85,000 shows macro sensitivity to U.S. August PCE inflation data. With yields rebounding and equities stabilizing, the report reinforced a higher-for-longer backdrop without decisively changing Fed policy expectations. Risk assets saw mixed cross-asset signals (firmer crude, softer gold, steadier dollar), leaving BTC's initial upside impulse unsustained and near-term positioning data-dependent.

Bitcoin briefly pushed above $85,000 on Sept. 30 before reversing course and slipping below $84,000 after August U.S. inflation data hit the tape, with government bond yields rebounding and equities stabilizing.
The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) inflation report was released at 12:30 p.m. UTC. By 3:28 p.m. UTC, Bitcoin was hovering around $84,000, giving back most of the earlier pop and failing to turn the initial move into a sustained breakout. Even so, it was still up 0.56% over the past 24 hours at that time.
The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported headline PCE inflation at 0.3% month over month and 3.4% year over year for August. Core PCE, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.2% month over month and 3.0% year over year.
The release also included an annual update to the national economic accounts. The BEA said revisions to monthly personal income and outlays estimates begin with January 2021, meaning comparisons with earlier releases should be made with caution. In the revised table, July's monthly headline and core readings were both 0.1%. August's monthly headline and core readings were 0.3% and 0.2%, respectively.
On an annual basis, headline inflation remained above the Federal Reserve's longer-run 2% target for PCE inflation. The data added to the policy debate but did not settle the Fed's next move.
Across markets, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust was around $766.82. Brent spot crude rebounded toward $102.20 a barrel. Gold, quoted via a contract for difference, was around $4,163.92 an ounce after earlier trading above $4,200. The U.S. Dollar Index stood near 101.39 after pulling back from an earlier high. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was around 5.276%, while the U.K. 30-year government bond yield was near 5.939%.
These afternoon snapshots cover different intraday windows and do not isolate each asset's reaction to the inflation release. The inflation report reflects August, while later manufacturing and employment data cover September.
With Bitcoin later trading below $84,000, traders were watching whether any rebound could extend beyond the initial surge.
