BlackRock trims 3,710 BTC, adds 196,340 ETH over 37 days
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Onchain data indicates BlackRock's ETFs may be rotating exposure from BTC (IBIT holdings down 3,710) into ETH (ETHA holdings up 196,340) over 37 days, while the firm's overall crypto AUM rose. This flow dynamic supports relative ETH strength, reflected in an ETH/BTC rebound from multi-month capitulation. Near term, institutional allocation signals could tighten ETH spot supply and increase cross-asset correlation risk versus BTC.

BlackRock Inc. (NYSE: BLK) has expanded the value of its cryptocurrency holdings by more than $3.7 billion since early July, as onchain data points to a potential shift in investor allocation from Bitcoin (BTC) to Ethereum (ETH).
According to Arkham Intelligence, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) reduced its Bitcoin position by 3,710 BTC over the period, moving from 743,190 BTC on July 1, 2026, to about 749,480 BTC as of August 6.
In contrast, the iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) increased its holdings by 196,340 ETH. ETHA's Ethereum balance rose from 2.77 million ETH on July 1 to roughly 2.97 million ETH at press time.
With ETH trading at $1,868 on Thursday, BlackRock's Ethereum stash was valued at about $5.54 billion, an increase of $1.08 billion over the past 37 days. Over the same span, the value of the firm's Bitcoin holdings climbed by $2.67 billion to around $47.35 billion, supported by higher BTC prices despite a 0.5% decline in BTC holdings.
BTC advanced by $3,909, or 6.5%, from $60,128 on July 1 to above $64,037 at the time of reporting.
As investors stepped up Ethereum buying and trimmed Bitcoin exposure, the ETH/BTC pair emerged from a multimonth capitulation, as noted by Aksel Kibar. ETH/BTC is up more than 5% since early July and was trading at 0.02958 at press time.
Kibar said that if the same pattern persists—accumulating Ethereum while selling Bitcoin—ETH/BTC could move toward 0.0312.
