Anthropic has signed a $9.1 billion AI computing agreement with Riot Platforms, Bloomberg reported. Under the 20-year contract, Riot will supply 191 megawatts of computing power from its Rockdale, Texas facility.
Riot said it expects the deal to deliver $9.1 billion in revenue, with total potential revenue rising to as much as $16.1 billion if extension options are exercised. Shares of Riot Platforms jumped 25% in after-hours trading to $24.40 following the announcement.
Anthropic has recently expanded its compute commitments, including a separate $9.1 billion contract with Volta Infra Holdings and an agreement reached in May to buy $45 billion of computing power from xAI.
Riot, historically tied to bitcoin mining, has been pivoting toward AI and cloud infrastructure and has also struck an agreement with AMD to develop computing infrastructure.
