Danske Bank flags growing focus on 30-year U.S. yield as it tops 5% amid Middle East tensions
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Rising 30-year U.S. Treasury yields above 5% alongside escalating Middle East tensions have pushed Brent toward $100, tightening financial conditions and reviving inflation risks ahead of the FOMC. Higher long-end yields can pressure risk assets via discount rates, while oil-driven inflation complicates policy expectations and supports volatility across rates, FX, and commodities.

Kristoffer Kjaer Lomholt, Head of Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange Research at Danske Bank, said in a note that investors are paying closer attention to the 30-year U.S. Treasury yield, which has moved above 5%. He pointed to the intensifying Middle East conflict pushing Brent crude prices toward $100 a barrel, adding to inflation pressure ahead of next week's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. As of publication, the 30-year Treasury yield was up 0.3 basis points at 5.15%, close to a two-month high.
