Mastercard unveils Agent Pay for Machines protocol to enable AI agent payments
Mastercard said on Tuesday it introduced Agent Pay for Machines (AP4M), a protocol meant to let AI agents send, receive, and settle payments across its global card network, including sub-cent microtransactions. The company says more than 30 firms such as Stripe, Coinbase, and Cloudflare are early partners, with agent permissions recorded on Polygon, Solana, and Base. Executives described AP4M as a longer-term push into machine-to-machine commerce rather than a near-term revenue driver.

MUFG, Mizuho and SMBC Sign MOU to Issue Yen Stablecoin, Targeting March 2027 Use
MUFG Bank, Mizuho Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation said on June 10, 2026 they signed an MOU to jointly develop a yen-pegged stablecoin and start real corporate transactions during Japan’s fiscal year 2026, which ends March 31, 2027. The project follows a November 2025 FSA-approved proof of concept and comes as USD-backed stablecoins are estimated at 84% to 90% of a $300+ billion global stablecoin market.

61 Crypto Executives Ask Senate to Pass CLARITY Act While Keeping BRCA Protections
