Buterin: Ethereum DeFi Reaches Bank-Level Maturity for Savings and Lending

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated that decentralized finance on the network has achieved security and usability comparable to traditional banking. Speaking at a Dromos Labs event on Wednesday, he projected increasing global adoption of DeFi as primary financial accounts. The ecosystem handles over $1.9 trillion quarterly with 312 million active users as of mid-2025, data show.
