BNP Paribas said it will start offering six exchange-traded notes linked to Bitcoin and Ethereum on March 30. The ETNs are issued by firms including BlackRock, Invesco, WisdomTree, and VanEck, and the bank says the lineup is fully MiFID II compliant while being offered in response to client demand.

Traders on Polymarket are increasingly pricing in that Ether may lose the crypto market’s No. 2 ranking in 2026, with the contract’s odds rising from 17% at the start of the year to above 59%. Over the past five years, ETH market-cap growth lagged USDT and USDC, while US spot Ethereum ETF AUM fell to $11.76 billion in March from $31.86 billion last October.

BNP Paribas said it will start offering six Exchange-Traded Notes (ETNs) tied to Bitcoin and Ethereum on March 30, 2026, giving eligible retail and private banking clients in France access via standard securities accounts. The bank is also piloting a tokenized money market fund share class on the public Ethereum network and is backing the 12-bank Qivalis consortium targeting a euro-backed stablecoin launch in the second half of 2026.

BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs recorded combined net withdrawals of roughly $443 million across the March 23–27 period. Bitcoin’s IBIT saw mixed flows that ended with a $201.5 million single-day outflow on March 27, while Ethereum’s ETHA posted uninterrupted selling through the week, totaling about $285.1 million.

Solana has overtaken Ethereum in all-time unique developers, reaching 10,864—nearly 20% more than ETH—alongside rising on-chain engagement. Over the past 60 days, USD1 supply on Solana increased from $160 million to $850 million while the network saw $200-$300 million in daily stablecoin volume, and analysts say SOL/ETH holding near 0.04 could support a push back toward 0.05 in Q2.

Crypto ETFs finished the week under pressure as bitcoin spot ETFs posted $225.48 million in net outflows and ether ETFs extended an eight-day outflow streak with $48.54 million leaving. Trading remained active at $3.39 billion for bitcoin ETFs and $1.16 billion for ether ETFs, while net assets closed at $84.77 billion and $11.52 billion, respectively. Solana ETFs saw a $7.84 million outflow and XRP ETFs recorded no trading activity.

Ethereum's network mix is shifting, with L2 usage easing while liquidity remains centered on L1. February 2026 data shows the L2-to-L1 DAU ratio falling to 1.12, alongside about $163.3 billion in mainnet stablecoins and Ethereum's 58% share of the $16.5 billion RWA market.

Ethereum whale activity climbed sharply, with large-holder transactions rising from 123 on March 21 to 2,055 on March 24, a reported 1,500% jump. The count later cooled to about 239 transactions, while indicators cited in the report noted a bullish SuperTrend for the first time in 10 months and an MVRV move into a buy zone. Separately, Ethereum developers outlined a post-quantum security push, including a roadmap targeting quantum-resistant upgrades by 2029.

Ethereum slipped under the $2,000 level on Friday, March 27, hitting a two-week low as broader risk-off pressure weighed on crypto markets. The move coincided with more than $110 million in ETH long liquidations and left ETH around $1,980, down nearly 3% over 24 hours and over 7% across seven days. Over the past week, US spot Ethereum ETFs also posted about $158 million in net outflows, extending a seven-day negative streak.

Ethereum moved back above $2,000 on March 28, trading around $2,024 after sliding to a March 27 low of $1,971. The rebound followed an all-time high futures Estimated Leverage Ratio of 0.99495738, a reading that coincided with elevated open interest relative to exchange reserves. Leverage later eased to about 0.976 as positions unwound, while development activity rankings still showed MetaMask mUSD and other Ethereum-based projects leading by GitHub commits.
