U.S. Census Bureau to Release September Retail Sales Data at 8:30 AM ET Tuesday
The U.S. Census Bureau will release September retail sales and PPI data at 8:30 AM ET on Tuesday, Nov. 25, more than a month after the scheduled date due to a government shutdown, BlockBeats reports. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg project September retail sales rose 0.4%, following a 0.6% gain in August. Bloomberg Economics noted labor market conditions improved slightly after a summer low, though October's partial federal shutdown posed fresh challenges to hiring and consumer spending. "Overall, we believe the Fed can and likely should cut rates in December to sustain the fragile recovery that began in the summer," Bloomberg economists said.
