Trump-linked stocks and tokens drop sharply since inauguration

Stocks and cryptocurrencies associated with President Donald Trump have declined significantly since his inauguration, the Wall Street Journal reports. DJT shares fell 75% since the swearing-in, while digital tokens named after Trump and First Lady Melania dropped 86% and 99% respectively from inauguration day levels. World Liberty Financial, a crypto project linked to the Trump family launched in September, declined approximately 40%. Alpine Macro chief equity strategist Nick Giorgi described the movement as "a healthy pullback after speculative frenzy," noting the broader correction reflects shifts across high-valuation, speculative markets including Bitcoin and AI stocks as investors focus on actual company performance.
