Dormant Ethereum Whale Transfers 85,283 ETH to Gemini After 9-Year Hiatus

A dormant Ethereum whale address transferred 85,283 ETH to Gemini within the past hour, emptying its holdings after 9 years of inactivity, on-chain data show. The address withdrew 135,000 ETH (about $12.17 million) from Bitfinex 9 years ago when ETH traded near $90, and the current price is now 32 times higher. Earlier on Jan. 27, about 15 hours before the latest move, the address had sent 50,000 ETH to Gemini, BlockBeats reports.
