Ledger Finds Android Chip Flaw Exposing Mobile Web3 Wallets to Physical Attacks
Ledger's Donjon team identified a security vulnerability in MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 chip that could expose software-based Web3 wallets to physical attacks, The Block reported on Dec. 4. Researchers used electromagnetic fault injection to bypass security checks and execute arbitrary code at the processor's highest privilege level, with attacks repeatable within minutes. Ledger disclosed the flaw to MediaTek in May, and the chipmaker has notified affected device manufacturers.
