Bitcoin is trading sideways as $415 million in options are scheduled to expire over the next seven days, with half of that open interest due on 26 December. If buyers can continue to defend the $85k–$88k support band through the expiry window, analysts expect conditions for a FOMO-driven breakout and a bullish base heading into 2026.

On December 20, 2025, on-chain analyst Ali Martinez cautioned that XRP's support weakens below $1.77, raising the odds of a corrective move toward $0.79. His view, based on Glassnode's URPD distribution, highlights thin realized volume under $1.77, with intermediate levels at $1.41, $1.27, and $1.01 seen as fragile. At press time, XRP traded at $1.95, up 4.5% day-on-day but down over 4% week-on-week.

XRP climbed from $1.77 to an intraday high of $1.957, approaching the $2 level while forming a double bottom near the recent low. Trading volume dropped 42% to $2.8 billion, raising doubts about the strength of the move even as optimism around XRP ETFs and Ripple's new partnerships supports sentiment.

Bitcoin has slipped about 3% for the week to $88,000 after briefly rebounding from $84,500, with on-chain data highlighting that zone as the strongest current support. Analyst Ali Martinez notes that a break below roughly $83,300 could open the way to deeper supports at $79,520, $70,685, and $63,111. The price also faces heavy sell walls just above the market, including resistance around $90,000, $92,000 and a major barrier near $94,000.

Despite fading retail participation, large holders bought tens of thousands of SOL and spot ETFs registered $11 million in net inflows, helping price rebound into the $122–$145 range with improving momentum signals.

On 19 December, Bitcoin Cash rose by about 10% in 24 hours, with derivatives activity and growing leverage driving most of the move. Open Interest in BCH perpetual futures increased to roughly $786 million, while funding rates turned positive as shorts lost around $2.54 million. At the same time, spot investors sent nearly $3.93 million in BCH to exchanges to sell, leaving the rally to confront key resistance zones near $598–$606 and around $651.

Solana’s price rebounded 6% on Friday, climbing toward $126 after previously slipping below the key $120 support and raising concerns about a deeper slide toward $100. An analyst from The Motley Fool pointed to the Solana Foundation’s quantum-resistant testnet and Mangoceuticals’ plan to invest $100 million in SOL as major drivers of the recent strength. Despite these catalysts, technical indicators still lean bearish, with key moving averages above current levels and resistance expected around $133–$138 and $144–$147.

For the second consecutive month, the crypto market has fallen, with a near 30% correction since early October totaling about $1.2 trillion in capitalization, according to Volodymyr Nosov. He attributes the decline to institutional repositioning, macro headwinds, leverage washouts on October 10, regulatory adjustments, and a changing market structure, and expects a return to stability in the first half of 2026.

Chiliz CHZ surged nearly 24% in the last 24 hours, trading around $0.0376. The move follows a DeFi update on Chiliz Chain and a monthlong CHZ Frenzy campaign on MEXC that drew over 140,000 users with zero fees and bonuses. Trading volume jumped more than 500% to about $231.5 million.
