XRP Ledger Opens Native Smart Contract Testing on AlphaNet

The XRP Ledger has launched native Layer-1 smart contract testing on AlphaNet, its development-focused network. The implementation combines EVM-compatible contract patterns with XRPL's existing infrastructure, enabling developers to build decentralized applications directly on the ledger. Denis Angell, software engineer at XRPL Labs and Xahau, announced the milestone on November 7, 2025.
