Citrea Mainnet and ctUSD Stablecoin Go Live on 28 January 2026 to Power Bitcoin Capital Markets

On January 28, 2026 in George Town, Cayman Islands, Bitcoin application platform Citrea announced its mainnet launch, enabling capital market activity directly on the Bitcoin network. The project also introduced ctUSD, a U.S. dollar-denominated stablecoin issued by MoonPay and powered by M0, intended to serve as a USD settlement and liquidity layer for Bitcoin-based financial use cases such as BTC-backed lending. Backed by investors including Founders Fund and Galaxy Ventures, Citrea aims to make Bitcoin more programmable and financially active for institutional and global users.
