UK High Court to Hear Disposal of 60,000 BTC in Money Laundering Case on Nov. 17
The UK High Court will hold a hearing on Nov. 17, 2025, on the disposal of approximately 60,000 BTC frozen in a money laundering case, Caixin reports. The bitcoin was allegedly acquired by defendant Qian Zhimin at an average price of 2,815 yuan per coin and had appreciated over 266 times to 750,000 yuan per coin at the time of UK sentencing. The Tianjin Public Security Bureau Hedong Branch said on Oct. 30 that Chinese authorities continue cross-border cooperation with UK law enforcement on asset recovery, though no substantive progress has been made on the return or sharing of frozen assets.
