BlackRock Lists $2.1B Tokenized Treasury Fund BUIDL on Uniswap for Institutional DeFi Access

BlackRock has listed its USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), a $2.1 billion tokenized Treasury money market fund, on Uniswap as its first formal move into decentralized finance. The launch, developed with tokenization firm Securitize, allows select institutional investors and market makers to trade tokenized securities and access tokenized money markets backed by US Treasury assets directly onchain. JPMorgan analysts including strategist Teresa Ho said tokenized money market funds can be used as collateral while preserving yield and may help offset liquidity shifts linked to growing stablecoin use in the broader economy. Goldman Sachs and BNY Mellon have also entered the tokenization space.
