Zcash Fixes Orchard Counterfeiting Bug After May 29 Report, ZEC Slides 41%

Zcash developers shipped a fix on June 2 for a critical Orchard shielded-pool vulnerability that researcher Taylor Hornby privately disclosed on May 29. The issue could allow undetectable, unlimited counterfeit ZEC in local testing, and ZEC fell more than 40% over the past 24 hours as the disclosure spread. Developers also outlined proposed supply-verification upgrades, while noting they are not "overly concerned" the bug was exploited.
