Sui mainnet stalled for 5h 55m on May 29 after a bug in Sui 1.72

Sui’s mainnet stopped producing blocks for 5 hours and 55 minutes on May 29 after a bug introduced in the Sui 1.72 release triggered a network stall. During the interruption, DeFi activity effectively froze and SUI fell about 6.6% to $0.90 before recovering after service resumed. The core team said patches were deployed and that a full incident review will be shared in the coming days.
