Nigel Green Warns Oil’s "Security Premium" May Keep Brent Near $93 After June 1 Remarks
Devere Group CEO Nigel Green said June 1 that investors should brace for a short- to medium-term shift in energy pricing, arguing that a supply-security premium may keep inflation and rate-cut expectations under pressure. Brent crude traded near $93 a barrel after Israel ordered troops deeper into Lebanon, following an earlier spike above $112 during the crisis. Green also pointed to tight supply conditions, including demand above 103 million barrels per day and about 20% of global oil consumption moving through the Strait of Hormuz.
