Boozman's Jan. 21 crypto bill proposes $150M CFTC funding; markup on Jan. 27

Senate Agriculture Committee Chair John Boozman released updated text for the Digital Commodity Intermediaries Act on Jan. 21 and set a committee markup for Jan. 27. The draft would create a CFTC retail advocate, fund spot oversight via industry fees with a $150,000,000 bridge appropriation, and permit specialized hiring. It also defines DeFi boundaries based on control over funds and execution.
