SEC Drops BitClout Fraud Case, Ethereum Foundation Completes $10M OTC Sale

The SEC dismissed with prejudice its civil fraud case against BitClout and DeSo founder Nader AlNaji over the weekend, The Block reports. The Ethereum Foundation sold 5,000 ETH to Tom Lee's BitMine in a $10 million OTC transaction. Custodia's five-year effort to secure a Federal Reserve master account effectively concluded following a 7-3 appeals court ruling, and Venus Protocol incurred about $2 million in bad debt after an exploit manipulated the price of Thena's THE token. Aave and CoW Swap released postmortems after a $50 million DeFi swap incident, and a separate probe reportedly found a document outlining an alleged $5 million agreement linking Argentina's President Javier Milei to promotion of the Libra token.
