Solana core team Anza urges mainnet validators to adopt Agave 4.0

Anza, Solana's core development team, is recommending that mainnet validators upgrade to Agave 4.0. The release brings XDP support for Turbine, QUIConly transaction ingestion on the TPU, a faster replay stage, and a set of featuregated SIMD improvements slated to go live in this upgrade cycle. According to production data from large mainnet validators, Turbine retransmission latency has fallen from 600 ms to about 0.8 ms. The update also removes UDP transaction ingestion, making QUIC the only supported submission path; simple vote transactions will now follow the same cost model as standard transactions. Agave 4.0 is also expected to enable ptokens, Stake Program v5, SBPFv3 program support, prefunded account creation, and BLS12381 system calls during the 4.0 cycle.
