Robinhood Launches Public Testnet for Arbitrum-Based Ethereum L2 for Tokenized Assets

Robinhood has activated a public testnet for Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum-based Ethereum layer-2 network designed to enable interactions with digital and tokenized real-world assets, with public endpoints and technical documentation available at docs.chain.robinhood.com, the company said. The network is compatible with widely used Ethereum development tools and supports continuous, 24/7 trading, smoother cross-blockchain transfers, self-custody, and decentralized finance services, with several infrastructure partners already beginning early integrations. Potential uses include tokenized-asset platforms, perpetual-futures exchanges, and lending markets that link to Ethereum's broader DeFi ecosystem; Robinhood plans to transition from testnet to mainnet later this year and, in the interim, roll out testnet-only assets such as stock-style tokens and deeper integration with Robinhood Wallet. Johann Kerbrat, head of crypto and international operations, said the testnet lays the foundation for an ecosystem centered on tokenized real-world assets and gives builders access to Ethereum's DeFi liquidity.
