Report: Russia's April oil tax revenue seen doubling on Iran war-driven price surge
Russia's core oil tax revenue is expected to reach about $9 billion in April, roughly double the amount collected in March, as energy markets reprice risk tied to the Iran conflict, according to a Reuters report. Urals crude jumped 73% over the month to around $77 a barrel, well above Moscow's earlier budget assumptions. The move follows Brent futures pushing above $100 after the Strait of Hormuz was closed, disrupting roughly one-fifth of global oil and LNG flows. Even with the boost, the Kremlin is still grappling with a sizeable budget deficit and continued attacks on infrastructure.
