ZachXBT Flags Address Poisoning Risk in Phantom Chat

On-chain investigator ZachXBT has warned that Phantom wallet’s planned Phantom Chat social feature could expose users to address poisoning scams, according to crypto industry outlet Wu Blockchain. He cautioned that users may inadvertently copy similar-looking, malicious addresses from spam transactions, citing a recent incident in which 3.5 WBTC was reportedly lost through such an attack. Address poisoning has been a recurring scam method targeting users of non-custodial wallets.
