Payward Buys Bitnomial, Secures Full Suite of CFTC Derivatives Licenses
Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, has acquired Bitnomial, obtaining access to U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) registrations that cover Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), Designated Contract Market (DCM), and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), The Block reported. Joint CEO Arjun Sethi said Kraken will roll out spot margin trading, with plans to add perpetual contracts and options. Chicago-based Bitnomial is a crypto-native exchange that holds all three CFTC licenses, allowing it to run regulated digital-asset derivatives operations in the U.S.
