NYSE Clears Morgan Stanley's Spot Bitcoin ETF MSBT, Pricing at a Record-Low 0.14% Fee
Morgan Stanley has secured New York Stock Exchange approval to list a spot Bitcoin ETF, which will trade on NYSE Arca under the ticker MSBT, Odaily Planet Daily reported. The bank filed its S-1 registration statement in January 2026 and seeded the product with $1 million.
MSBT will hold physical Bitcoin. Coinbase will provide cold-storage custody, while BNY Mellon will handle cash management, administrative functions, and transfer agency services.
The fund's annual expense ratio is set at 0.14%, undercutting Grayscale's current low of 0.15% and BlackRock's IBIT at 0.25%, making MSBT the lowest-fee spot Bitcoin ETF in the U.S.
MSBT is also the first spot Bitcoin ETF issued directly by a major U.S. bank. Morgan Stanley has more than 16,000 financial advisors and plans to offer retail crypto trading through its E*Trade platform.
Total assets in the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market are estimated at about $83 billion. Analysts expect MSBT trading to begin within days to weeks.
