Iran's Larijani vows retaliation against U.S., Israel after military announcement
Ali Larijani, described by CNN as one of Iran's most powerful figures and Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, vowed further retaliation against the United States and Israel on March 1 following the assassination of Supreme Leader Khamenei, CNN reports. He said Iran would pierce the heart of America and that responses would be even stronger, adding that Tehran has informed regional leaders it does not seek war with them but would continue to target U.S. bases in Middle Eastern countries. On the morning of March 1 local time, Iran's military issued Announcement No. 3, stating that since the evening of the 28th it had launched a large-scale drone strike against U.S. and Israeli targets using various types of destructive and combat drones.
